A Walk in the Woods

The Little Pine Needle

Among the forest lay a variety of living organisms and plant life. From the irish-green and coarse leaves to the slender, pitch pine trees. They all differ, but remain in the same place. But the little pine needle is among the most unique. I came upon the little spindle of pine laying idly on the velvet-smooth dirt of the forest floor. Laying by itself, slightly covered by the rich dirt, it somewhat reminded me of myself. Some people would mistake it for a flimsy, narrow twig. In reality it is actually a leaf as well, but a unique one. There are some things that people do not know about me that are not fairly obvious. My character is also unique in its own way, just like the little pine needle. Blooming flowers flaunt their fresh spring beauty, but the little pine needle, like myself, prefers to be simple with its coffee brown physique and simple characteristics. Again it could be mistaken for a short twig. Like the little pine needle I also like to be simple and private most of the time. I am fine being a simple little pine needle. I can feel calm and at peace that way, just like how the little pine needle likes its place in the forest.
